I know they are going to have fans vote on a team name. I've got one for them, the Rocky Mountain Oysters. Their arena could be called, "The Ball Room". Their theme song could be Big Balls by AC/DC

 That is awesome! It would give a whole new meaning to getting some roasted nuts at the concession stand.

But, I've heard the "name the team" contest referred to as a "guess the name" contest. Apparently, they've already obtained the rights to the name "Cutthroats".

It will be good to have a team in Denver will be a instant rival. Although I think we will be in the ECHL with the Eagles, Komets,Icemen,Allen, Mizz and Wichita before to long. I wish Sioux Falls would get a pro team too. Those games would be instant sell out and cut down on travel costs for the team.

Timmy, you're a genius! What a great idea! I hope you do submit that idea. It'll bring in some laughs anyway.

Yeah a rivalry with a team from Sioux Falls would be obvious. Anyone remember the rivalry between the Rapid City Thrillers and the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the CBA? It was a mean one, but very, very fun... especially considering we always beat them!

Problem with Sioux Falls is they already have a USHL hockey team, Sioux Falls Stampede. I heard rumors a while back that they were considering jumping to the CHL, but it's been a while now. I certainly hope they are still considering it. I've heard hockey in Sioux Falls has grown stale and that a new league might bring back the fans.

The fact that Denver is entering the league tells me that the Rush are sticking with the CHL for the long haul (either till the CHL folds or our 10 year contract runs out) From what I heard, there will be 2 new ECHL teams next season which makes me believe that the rumors of Fort Wayne and Evansville leaving are true. I see the Rush stuck in the CHL for at least another 3-4 years, before the ECHL becomes an option again (unless the CHL completely collapses during that time frame)

The fan naming contest is a farce to engage local hockey fans early on. In reality, the team name, Denver Cutthroats, has already been selected and protected with a federal trademark...the only team name that was submitted by the team's law firm Packard Dierking.

The 2 new teams are the Orlando and San Francisco teams previously announced. See 'expansion' articles in the ECHL:

I agree though, the Rush will be in the CHL unless the 2 leagues merge, and that doesn't look like any time soon.

With the 2 new teams named NOT being Ft Whine and Evansville, does that mean they aren't moving to the ECHL?? Evansville I don't care so much about as I really didn't mind our games against them, but I would send a going away present to Al Sims and his group of whining thugs (not to mention the media and the broadcaster over there  )!
